with israeli tourists. new developments continue to come in to cnn, but here's what we know right now. new security footage shows a man who bulgarian officials say is responsible for the attack. you see him there. in a surprising twist, this man was carrying a michigan driver's license, which fbi officials have now identified as a fake. seven people confirmed dead in the attack, including the bomber. 36 others wounded. three of them serious. let's bring in our reporter on the ground in bulgaria. let's talk about this fake michigan driver's license. any idea how this man got a hold of it? >> reporter: we really don't know. and of course we can't even tell whether or not he is american, if it's a fake i.d. all we really know is what we see on that security camera video that's come in from the airport. and basically it shows a man who could be an ordinary backpacker tourist. and that's what's so eerie about it. it's somebody you might see just about anywhere. he could be anywhere from in his teens to his 30s. and he just seems to be wandering around the airport. according to bulgarian officia

mccain isn't the only one to speak out. he's the most public, our old friend here at cnn ed rollins, he wrote a scathing piece where he called her extreme and dishonest, he noted that bachmann had difficulty with her facts. and in this case he said she was downright vicious, and what she's doing is akin to mccarthyism. i can tell you that's what's in public. privately some top congressional sources have told me that bachmann is doing this as a fund-raising tool plain and simple. >> alex, despite you said this might play well with some in the republican base. >> it's interesting. michele bachmann's letter came out on june 13th. if you go back two years ago on june 6th, it was the first rally against the so-called ground zero mosque in lower manhattan, which became a huge election issue. really brought out the tea party and the right-wing fringe of the republican party. i think that's what is going on here. at least that's what bachmann was trying to do. i think she may have gotten over her skis and this blew up in her face. i think she was trying to keep this for the base audience. s
